bank-demoATM Traffic Generator

This page shows you how GEDIS Studio can be used to simulate traffic for automatic teller machines (ATM). We have put this demonstration generator online so that you can choose your own generation parameters and produce the corresponding sample data. help How does it work ?

Automatic Teller Machine Traffic Generator

In this case study, GEDIS Studio generates banking transactions that simulate the activity of the ATM users. We have designed this sample traffic generator to produce for each customer a sequence of withdrawals and a sequence of deposits.

Sample ATM Transactions

ID Customer Date ATM ID Operation Amount
001 00000101 08:53:00 ATM1 WITHDRAWAL $ 431.00
002 00000101 09:10:00 ATM1 WITHDRAWAL $ 539.00
003 00000101 14:12:00 ATM2 WITHDRAWAL $ 100.00
004 00000101 20:00:00 ATM1 DEPOSIT $ 100.00

From the configuration panel, it is possible to constraint the number of withdrawal and the total amount of those withdrawals into a specific range for each customer. It is also possible to constraints the deposit transactions in the same way.

In the sample data table, the generator choose to generates 3 withdrawals for an amount of $1 100 and one deposit for $100.

Regular Transactions Traffic

This generator is suitable for producing a large bunch of data to simulate the regular activity of significant amount of virtual customers over the network of ATM of the bank. In that scenario, all the customers will follow the same "regular profile" with a usual number of withdrawals and deposits for a usual total amount.

ATM Fraud Usage Detection

It would also be possible to configure that same generator to implement suspicious behaviors. For example with a numerous withdrawals for a small amount from diffrent ATM located in the same area. Everything is there to simulate that kind of behavior with the sample ATM traffic generator exposed here.
