Q. Do I need administrative rights to install GEDIS Studio?

A. No. Administrator rights on your computer might be required to install GEDIS Studio in the Windows main "Program Files" directory. But you can install GEDIS Studio at any location you prefer. The GEDIS_HOME environment variable will be set to point to that installation directory.

Q. Do I need Java JRE for generating data ?

A. No. The Java Runtime Environment is only required to work with the graphical user interface of GEDIS Studio. All is needed for the actual generation is the command line executable.

Q. Why GEDIS Studio doesn't find my license?

A. A license file is a binary file to be found in the licenses subfolder of the installation folder. Make sure that the license file sent to you wasn't modified by your mailer client and that you copy that file in the license subfolder. GEDIS Studio will scan that folder for all the .dat files and register all the licenses in that folder.

Q. What is the challenge file?

A. The challenge file contains a key we use to generate a personal license. Every GEDIS Studio license is attached to a specific computer, if you need to install your copy of GEDIS Studio to another computer you should ask our sales team first to request another license.
